Medical Reception Lead – Full-Time

We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Reception Lead for our offices. This position combines hands-on patient service responsibilities with leadership duties, making it ideal for an experienced medical receptionist who enjoys mentoring others, improving workflows, and leading by example. The position is based in Albany and requires up to 25% travel between practice locations to support staff, training, and operational needs.
The Medical Reception Lead will work alongside the reception team while helping coordinate daily operations, support staff development, and ensure an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all medical reception duties, including patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, registration, and telephone support
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the reception team
- Assist with training and onboarding new staff members
- Help monitor schedules, patient flow, and front-office operations
- Serve as a resource for staff questions and operational issues
- Promote excellent customer service and maintain a positive team environment
- Assist management with workflow improvements and process implementation
- Support coverage needs and help maintain productivity during high-volume periods
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office required
- Prior leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with electronic health records and practice management systems (preferably Veradigm or Allscripts) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, preferred
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between office locations as needed (up to 25%)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
